The 96' XP is a wasted spark system so both plugs fire at the same time. If only one is sparking it has to be either the wire, boot or plug.

No, your ski only has 1 coil. It sparks both plugs at the same time so if one plug is sparking then the other one has to also. The only thing that would stop one plug from sparking would be the spark plug wire, the spark plug cap or the spark plug.

Is the MPEM still in place? I’m not sure how you’d wire that up with two coils unless you split the signal coming from the MPEM. Even then you’d still be firing both plugs at the same time, so I don’t really see the point...

You are going to have to post some pictures.
At this point we have no way of knowing what you have going on since the electronics are not stock.

Can you take a picture of what you’re working with? I think we’re getting confused with the CDI and coil terminology... The CDI is in the front electrical box with the MPEM, and the coil is in the rear one.

Unfortunately we are going to be no help here as that is nothing that seadoo ever used.
No clue why someone would try to reinvent the electrical system on these since they are so reliable and simple.

I would suggest getting everything from Nick or Jess at Westside Powersports as they sell guaranteed and tested used parts and will get you everything you need.

I'd find another 96 XP, they're like belly buttons, everyone has one or 3. Then you get all the extra parts with it. Probably cost you like $300 for a blown engine ski

I dont understand how to buy a new MPEM and electric box from Westside Powersports, im located in norway are there shipping options?

Any chance you could post some more pics of all the electronics and one of the entire ski? Wondering if this was an old race ski or something.

I dont have the opportunity to do that right now but i sent an email to nick at Westside Powersports regarding the MPEM and rear electrical box

I think the provious owner changed everything so he could have a learner option or something or it was built to be an racing ski‍♂️

You really need to figure out what you have first. I wouldn't spend a dime yet. You can buy all the stock parts you want, if it's a race ski with an aftermarket flywheel in the mag housing that won't play with stock parts. You'd literally have to buy every wire in the ski, the mag, stator, ebox, rear ebox and the list goes on. Or if some electrical engineer went all science project on it. So when you get a chance, post pics of everything.

Oil injection is bypassed, different cdi and a mess with wiring. Pic nr 3 you can see there is 2 coils and not just 1 in the eBox in the rear

That thing is a mess. You really need to start over with the correct electronics. Even the rear box will fill with water since the battery cable plugs are missing.

Also you need to still have oil going to the rotary gear even running pre-mix.
