seadoo sensor problem

have a 2005 seadoo rxp and the battery died so we thought. so we put a new one in and everything worked so today i go to check if it is still charged and it was so i put it in the water and it acted as if it was dead so i put it back on the trailer and take it home and when i got home it started right up again? by the way it says sensor right when i put the key in?

Press the "SET" button on the left handlebar 5 times while the gauge is reading "SENSOR". The gauge will give you a code (P-????).

p-1517 is the code

That code means there is something wrong with your compass and has nothing to do with the not starting. You're gonna have to be more specific about the symptoms.

the symptoms are that it wont start in the water but by the time i get home from pulling it out of the water which is like a 20 min ride it will start up
