We have a sea doo and we just used it last summer but now we tried to start it and it wouldn’t start. It wasn’t the battery. Kept trying and it started for a second, and then stopped. Then it started MAJORLY backfiring. So loud! Stubborn as we are we continue a couple more times and then stop. It says “sensor” message.
What the hell is wrong? If we take it in to the shop we will end up having to wait until the summer is over to get it back because they’re so busy. Help??

Look up the code and tell us what it is, my thought is that since it backfires it is probably the spark plugs or an ignition coil. I would replace the spark plugs and try it again.

What type of Sea-Doo do you have? Year, Model?

After you used the ski last summer, did you park it without performing the "off season" storage maintenance tasks? This is critical information.

Press the set button five times with key on the DESS post and write down all the codes displayed. Watch carefully; if there are multiple codes, they will appear in sequence. You will hear a long beep after all codes are displayed with "end" in the display (depends on the ski you have.)
