I took my boat out last night to test how my new wear rings improved performance (Thanks Dr. Honda), and it's great, back to normal.

The left one was just bad enough to cause full-throttle from a standstill cavitation:

The right one had been worked on by a gremlin:

This is what the boat did last night: from a standstill I gave it full throttle, it squirt up out of the water like a dolphin (good), got up to 55 mph in no time flat (good), but instead of continuing to accelerate to top speed, the left engine rpm fell to about 6000 rpm and the boat remained at 55 mph (not good).

Does this mean that the port engine is somehow being powered down? Or does it mean that neither drive is fully hooked up until 55 mph, when the port engine hooks but the starboard doesn't?

As hard as it accelerates, I have to guess that something is causing reduced power in the left engine at sustained WOT operation.
