I have a Rotax 580 engine that I am rebuilding. This is my first rebuild. I am just about to open the case halves. Any tips on removing the connecting rods. Any advice on how to decide whether to replace or reuse the connecting rods?

You cannot replace connecting rods. They are pressed together with crankshaft when assembled so with a proper rebuild complete crankshaft replacement is necessary. You will see what I mean when you crack case halves!

I opened the crankcase and I found that one connecting rod has no bearings left. There is just a pile of metal shavings in the bottom of the crankcase. Suggestions for a place to ship my crack for a rebuild?
