Replace wear ring while I replace carbon seal?

I replaced my wear ring few weeks ago but now will be replacing my carbon seal. My current wear ring is the white sbt one and has a slight groove in it from the impeller. Should I replace that as well while Im in there? I have an extra oem black wear ring. Not sure if the groove is giving me problems as well, I'm quite sure the carbon seal is.
