Question about 852962T alum inlet grate

Hi

I ordered a new grate to replace hydrosurge
as recomm on this board.

I just received it from marinepartsplus.cm

the box says quicksilver parts. But the actual part is stamped c
C not T.

The overall finish is like a rough texture Black paint.
The individual ribs are not all uniform looking. One of the tines
3 in from side has a larger lip that sticks up quarter inch higher than
the other tines. Overall it looks like bad handmade.

Please let me know if this is how they are or if I have a bad Chinese copy

It does look a little different than the other grates I've seen, but it may be a superseded part number. The rib with the raised part definitely looks as though it was designed that way, and may be meant to direct flow in the direction the impeller is turning.

Over all it is a little rougher than what I am used to seeing but should not affect performance. It will still be safer than the Hydro-Surge.
