Any advice or things to look for? I am about to drop in the rebuilt engines. I ordered the little rubber bumpers for the shaft and I am getting ready to drop in the engines. Just thought I would see if there is anything to be looking for or any "tricks of the trade".:hurray:

Well... it's about dam time. :)

And the only thing you need to watch out for is... THE MONSTER BEHIND YOU !!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!

OK, my little girl finds that funny.

Sorry. It's really straight forward and there isn't anything to watch for. If I had to say one thing is to just make sure the engine is properly aligned to the pump.

Well I saved and marked where all the shims were so that will all be the same. I just got the little rubber bumbers for between the drive shaft and pto flywheel. They weren't there when I took them out. I just have to figure out the wiring and hope for the best. I have a shop manual.

I got spark !!!!!!

:hurray: I finally installed the engine in my 90 sp project. When I got it it had an MSD ignition that was fried. I contacted MSD and they didn't make it any more. So I scoured the internet for stock parts. I needed an electrical box due to whoever installed the MSD ignition really butchered up the elec. box. Any way, a flywheel, magneto, and cdi later all from ebay or people on here and she rolls over and I got spark. I am very happy with my progress today. Tomorrow I will mount the rebuilt carb and put new fuel line and filter in and she should be ready to rock. Then I will install the engine on the 89sp. This is my final push and I am starting to think I may be finnaly over the hump on this two year project. I was so relived to get spark

Pictures ????????

I had my 90 Si out yesterday... and the old hulls are fun to ride. They don't handle for $hit... but that's what makes them fun. They spin, and slide, and you get soaked riding it. And it does this cool thing in a spin, where you get it going in a circle, and it will be leaned over about 45 degrees, and eventually, the nose will go under the water. It's basically a self subbing maneuver. When you pull the bars straigth... the ski will be totally submerged, and the water will hit you in the chest hard enough to knock you off, if you aren't holding on.

Also... yesterday... I was able to run right beside a newer (98 ish) GTX with 2 people on it. I think my Si is hitting about 40-45 mph. (don't know how) I'll have to take a GPS with me next time.

no pictures...too busy. But I finally heard what it sounds like running !!!lol very satisfying after two years. I was pretty shocked how much hose and tubing are in those things. I changed every hose and clamp except for the exhaust hose that had a special bend to it. new fuel selector it takes forever to run all that hose. Primer kit. I was worried I did not rebuil my carb correctly as I was cranking and cranking but ther is miles of hose and I finally saw the filter fill up.

flooding

well, I fear I have carb issues. I have spark but the plugs keep getting wet. I rebuild the carbs all but the needle and seat. I used SBT rebuild kit for the super bn carbs (not mikuni kits) So I remember reading on here about not using the aftermarket and only use the mikuni kits. So I wonder if I can just buy the mikuni diaphram and the needle and seat?...What do you guys think I should do? Dr. Honda??? Snipe????
