Pump Cones

So I'm rebuilding my pumps on my 97 Speedster. It's at new impellers in and swapped the plastic housings for bronze.. the cones are still plastic. What's the reason for going with bronze cones? Is there any pros or cons?

They're always plastic cones unless you got an aftermarket aluminum one. Just the pump was bronze.

They only had bronze pump cones on the early 90's and late 80's. They were the short ones and are not available anymore.

Correct, but you can still buy used ones..just wasn't sure if they would give me better results.
