Hi i have a 1996 seadoo sp and i need directions on how to change my seadoo and make it premix i am having trouble starting and not knowing what to do please help me?

There's not much to it, however I wouldn't advise it. The disadvantages far out weight the advantages. The oil injection is a very reliable system because it uses the oil it's pumping for lubrication. I have never seen one fail except for lack of maintenance. O.K. I'm getting off my soapbox now.

If you want to go to premix you will need to remove the oil pump, on your ski it's under the carbs. you can either remove the drive gear and put the pump back on or get a block off plate. Block off the oil line to the pump, plug the two injector nipples. You will need to leave the oil tank in the ski to drip feed the rotary gear. You can get an oil block off kit from SBT.

After you remove the system you will need to mix approximately 3oz. of API-TC synthetic oil with every gallon of gas, SDB can give you the exact amount.

HAHA you should see how much these things smoke after going to premix and running 3oz's to 1 gallon ..they SMOKE ALL THE FREAKIN TIME ..im thinking about going back to oil injection......premix SUCKS ...by the way why do you want to go to premix

what a PITA premix is.. I even dumped my 2 stroke weed whacker.

I can't imagine what a pita it would be for a ski... I just fill mine w/gas and let the oil pump do it's thing.

I am running premix 40to1 on a rebuilt 657 with very little smoke. Granted we have only put about 15 hours on it, but so far so good. The SBT kit comes with directions. I have never been a fan of plastic gears. :o I would defer to the guys above on the disadvantages but I have not had any problems so far.
