Hi fellow members. I recently purchased a 96 spx 720 and promptly shorted out the battery "melted the negative post".
The positive cable had rubbed through the casing and grounded out on the block. Anyways I did the obvious repairs, cables and posts.
The sea doo will not cycle on. The dash goes on then turns off if the start switch is pressed. Any helpers?
I have an basic idea but will always field good advice whenever possible.
thanks in advance.

Used the same battery. got a voltage reading of 12.1v I can do a avr but the sea doo is in a rural location. "cottage"

Can I test the system with a battery charger safely on these? (set at low amperage)

WELL..... 12.1 was probubly not when you were trying to crank...if the battery is bad your voltage will drop drastically when trying to crank..you need to have it LOAD tested at a place like autozone they will do it for free but i will guarantee it is a bad battery causing your problems.... 12.1 is low just sitting there

Cool AVR is load test language up here in the great white north.
I'll swap it out with a fresh one I happen to have in town

what kind of fuse is used in this PWC they mention a 5 amp but dont say what kind of fuse.
LZ AT 05 or is it a micro fuse. etc

No!!! you cannot test the system with a charger and will fry the mpem (very expensive computer) if you do. These mpem's are super sensitive to voltages and fry often when people hook a charger to a battery still connected to the ski, try jumping from another vehicle or boat that is running, or hook the battery up backwards.
