Hi,

First time owner of a pwc. Bought used and was removing the registration stickers from the hull. Stickers came off, but there was glue residue left.

I used windex and the plastic scrubby part of a kitchen sponge and now where I scrubbed is scuffed and no longer 'glossy'.

Did I do any damage?

Sorry for the newbie question and I hope someone can put my mind at ease.

Thanks,
Eric

Hi and welcome to the forum.

First try an automotive cleaner polish. If that doesn't work use polishing compound. Gelcote is pretty thick, I doubt that you did any damage.

Agree with Lou. You probably didn't do damage to the gel coat with plastic but you do need to polish it up some. Be careful if you use a buffer not to burn the coat with the edge of the buffer. Better yet use good ole elbow grease and rub it down.

Thanks for the response. Good to know I didn't do any damage other than cosmetic. Will use your suggestions as well.
