First time out with the pwc today and wouldn't you know it. Dope, my ski rope got stuck in the shaft underneath the ski. I was able to get the rope unwound at home and the seadoo started right up but when hooked to the waterhose it seems like more water is coming out than usual. Also, there is a weird noise. Should I be worried or just get it back in the water and ignore if it works fine?

It should be OK. Now if you happen to wind lots of rope real tight against the shaft then it could be bent.....but it's pretty tough to do, I would think.
Try it on the water and see if you notice any shaking or vibrations, if not, then ride like you stole it.

Water - Since you didn't blow the water out after it shut down then it might be normal water amount left over.......did it pee while at home running?

Dayum...the back of that ski looks like warmed over dog shiite. Lemme guess....maintenance isn't big in your book?

How did you unwind the rope and get it out of the pump? Did you pull the pump off to do this? There is a little yellow o-ring with a metal restriction plate in it that fits in between the pump shoe and the pump housing which limits how much water can enter the system from the flush port... you may have dropped it if you pulled the pump out? This would only affect the waterflow from the flush port though, it's irrelevant when running in the water.

All jetpumps rattle some when run dry on the trailer (dry as in it has no water to push against). I'd try it in water and see if the noise doesn't go away and then go from there....

Actually, I am working on cleaning it. I purchased from someone who kept it on the lake about 3 weeks ago.

What I wasn't able to pull up and over the shaft I just cut. All the rope seems to have come off and will take it back out this weekend. I think it will be just fine like your saying.
