Oil Leak

I have a 93 GTS and one day riding when I got done there was a lot of oil in the hull, stopped riding for the weekend, cleaned the hull out when I got home and found where the leak is. It is the seal between the cylinder and the crank case on the carb side back cylinder.

I have a junk motor that I got for free to tear apart and figure things out and not worry to much if I break anything.

Does anyone know how this seal might start leaking?

If I purchase a top end rebuild kit and install it if it will fix the problem?

Thank you,

Craig

sounds like you have a blown head gasket from your description. You could probably get away with removing the cylinders, and putting a new gasket on if there are no problems with the way the ski runs right now. What is your compression on the cylinders right now?

I figure I should just do the top end, I only have about 105 compression. I was going to milk it through the short summer we have here in WA, but this happened.

I just want to make sure there is nothing I should look at while in there (warped parts or something)

Thank you,
Craig
