Just ordered xps oil, filter and extractor. Was going to take boat to lake and get it warmed up then take it home and do the dew. Any helpful tips.

That's what I'd do. I send my oil off to Blackstone labs for analysis; it just feeds my curiosity, and it gives you some insight into oil/engine health.

Personally, I check oil level warm on the water after changing to make sure it's where it needs to be before I start hammering it.
