I no longer get the 2 beeps when i attach my lanyard. Is there more than one possibility as to what is wrong. Thanks.

If the ski is operating normally, ie still starting it's just the beeper. It's in the handle bar cover. You can replace it or just give it a "wap" with a screwdriver. You can get one from minnetonka4me or seadoobuddy can tell you where to get a new one.

I hit mine with a screwdriver about 3 years ago and it's still working.

that same advice works for the wife too

Seadoobuddy says he gets buzzers for free from Floyd Bell, I think he is the barber in Mayberry.

96 XP should beep. Open up the handlebar foam and "wap" it with a screwdriver like LouDoo suggests. If you have a comfortable couch at your house you can try what bigJake suggests too. I don't recommend it though!

It's normal for the buzzer's on these old skis to be dead.

The OEM buzzer is expensive. +$40. BUT... you can get a buzzer from Radio shack for $9 that will work. I've put them in 5 or 6 different projects now, and never had an issue. Just solder the positive to the + terminal, and the ground to the CONT. terminal. (in the picture below, it's backward because it's a pre-MPEM ski)

I ordered a beeper, as mine doesn't sound either. WHERE is this thing located? Is it under the handlebar cover, or in the 'hood' area? Specifically a 97 SPX.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but as it's related (you can't replace it if you can't find it!)

Just be aware that the Radio Shack beeper is a bit larger than OEM and it won't fit into the original clip type bracket. It needs to be strapped in a different way.
At least this what I found to be the case on my 96 GTX.

Weingartz is a mower place, they don't carry Seadoo parts.

I should have the beeper off a '96 XP and '98 GTX LTD for sale $10.00 + $2.00 shipping. I will test before shipping. Just hook it to a battery?
