new 2001 Seadoo xp

hello everybody,
new to these forums, purchased my first ski lastnight..
its a 2001 seadoo xp the 951 engine in it 2 stroke
ski has been sitting for a few years.

i know im probably going to have to clean the carbs out and all that but ill deal with that later.


i threw new spark plugs in and charged the battery up and tried to start it up to see what id get
what it is doing is itl beep when key is first attached then a screeching noise is coming from the battery area.
and a little rumble from the engine. I took a video and will try to get on here.

any ideas on what that screech is from the battery?

There are bearings back there that the driveline rides on...

Or your pump bearings are also shot.

Yup its most likely the midshaft bearing. You might get lucky greasing it up, but most likely it needs replacing. If its wore out and you run it, it will rip up all the splines, fingers, cushion pads...not cheap.

i think there's a lot to be checked on a ski that was sitting for years..does it still come with the gray tempo fuel lines?
