Needs work 2003 GTX: To buy or not to buy?

Gentlemen,

I was browsing the local craigslist and came upon a 2003 GTX Supercharged

He said that the engine mounts gave up and the engine lifted. He said this caused damage to the driveshaft splines and impeller.

Do you think that $2200 is too much with trailer?

Do you think there is damage to other parts of the machine that he may not have explained? Jet pump housing, or even the pump itself?

I am familiar with my skis, old two strokes, so this is new to me.

What do you guys think

If that's all that's wrong, then you'll need a new driveshaft, impeller, impeller wear ring, new motor mounts and an engine alignment tool to re-align the engine once the new motor mounts are installed. Check Ebay and search other CL listings for similar year and model watercraft in ready-to-run condition and compare prices.

When was the Supercharger last rebuilt and how many overall hours are on it? They are supposed to be rebuilt every 100 hrs of operation. What's the condition of the gelcoat, seats, etc.? And how much do you like the craft overall, are you willing to put a little time and money into getting it fixed up before you can actually test drive it? Remember you will be buying it without being able to test drive it... there's no telling what a test drive down the road may turn up, and it'll be your baby by then already.

Thank you for this information.

The guy still hasn't replied to my emails, so maybe its a scam, or sold.

This would be nice as he is including the engine mounts, and I already have an alignment tool.
