Need help taking apart seadoo gsx

I have a 98 gsx ltd I'm trying to take the hood off to send to paint shop, I got all the bolts off only thing is gauges don't want to come out? I've been told just push or pull them out threw back but it's hard? Would soap or wd40 help?thanks also the stearing wheel cover do I have to pull choke cable all the way threw thanks,

On your model, you have plastic nuts on the back side of the gauges that you have to remove.
