So I got tired of my ski trailer taking up so much space in my garage, dragging it around and wanted to have more load capacity from my hitch. After watching a few videos from Multy Rack I decided to take the plunge. Because of a materials shortage I got put on hold for several months. When I did get it I had to drive to a shipping terminal to pick it up (not a huge deal for me but something to consider) and FedEx had done a number on the pallet. With no shipping list or instructions I had no idea if everything was there so I took it home to sort out. After sorting things out there were several pieces that I really had no clue on because they aren't shown in any of their "instructional" videos. I called MR and they were very helpful. I texted them a pic and they identified all but a group of 6 mystery pieces that apparently were gifted to my by FedEx from someone else' shipment. The other pieces were parts of various updates that came along after the videos were done. Which again brings up the incredibly unuseful "instructional videos." It seems as though these videos were done by someone who wants to do music videos rather than informational ones. I mean little things like, what part is what are totally omitted. WTF? Granted, I have a couple of degrees in education and teach mechanical things for a living, but what have you ever bought, that you have to assemble, and was completely without a list of parts? All that being said, every time I called MR (I think 6 times) they were VERY helpful. The rack is on my truck and functions as designed quite well.

Here are some takeaways that I've learned going down this road:
#1 This rack was almost double what I paid for my trailer, so that right there makes it a no-go for many
#2 If you aren't good at figuring mechanical things out, I wouldn't go there
#3 My GTR230 only drops my truck about 1.5" at the rear and about .5" at the front. So the weight is no big deal at all
#4 Overhead clearance has to be considered whenever the ski rack is mounted, not just when it's loaded. But it is removable with only 4 pins
#5 I've had no issues going around corners but of course I'm not autocrossing it either.
#6 Though I do notice the mileage when the ski is loaded, it gets several miles to the gallon better than towing the trailer
#7 It takes longer to launce and recover than with my trailer. DON'T go to a busy ramp! LOL
