Muffler Wrap

Hello All,

I am in the process of cleaning and re-conditioning the engine compartment of my boat and the rubber padding on my mufflers has seen better days. Has anyone replaced the rubber and what have you used? Can it be removed completely and what is the down side?

something to consider for the compartment...cant say it is the greatest sound muffler, but it looks good & was inexpensive Replacing sound barrier?

Thank you for the information. I will look into it. Am also considering wrapping them in sound proof matting.
