Any ideas for relatively cheap ways to add speed to a 2001 GTX RFI?

You can get a different impeller to add 1-2 mph top end. BUT, typically, any impeller that gives you a few more top end MPH will lower your acceleration a little. It's a trade off you have to weigh.

Since you have an RFI, you don't have some of the options that a carb model would have to increase performance.

being a 2001, have you checked the impeller for wear, or the wear ring?

is the intake grate in good condition?

ride plate?

I'll take a reliable boat over adding 5 mph anyday...

I totally agree!! I think the only mod Im doing is a performance intake grate.
