More Problems.....No Acceleration....Help

After finally taking my 1995 Seadoo SP out to try a couple of days ago (it had been sitting unused for almost 2 years), I got the engine compartment flooded because it was missing the plug in the back (I'm new with seadoos so had no idea).

I took it out, emptied the water, did all the necessary steps to get it working again and brought it back to the shape it was before the flooding incident.

Because I never had the chance to try the seadoo yet, I took it out again the next day. Made sure I had a plug in the back. If floated this time, lol, it turned on at the first crank, but it surprisingly did not accelerate.

I would give it gas and it would rev as if its driving 100mph but it would barely move. It was moving slower then a turtle. The back was bubbling and smoking normally but I have no idea what was wrong. The sound of it seems normal.

The spark plugs are new, battery is new and the oil is topped up. 2 years ago it was fine.

What could be wrong and how do I fix it??

If its a big deal, I'll sell it and buy another.

It sounds like very bad cavitation. But, your ski should have a standard seal pack, and they don't normally get that bad without leaking a lot of water.

I would start by taking off the pump, and checking the splines on the drive shaft, and in the PTO. (where the drive shaft pugs into the engine) The splines are known to give up in the PTO if the drive shaft is out of align, or if there isn't any grease in it.

If that all checks out, I would rebuild the drive shaft seal, and put it back together. (you have to remove the pump and the drive shaft to get at the seal anyway)
