I just bought a 97 Sea Doo GS, took it out on the lake and rode it 1/2 mile, hit a wake and it died. It won't click, beep or turn over. got it home, checked battery cables and both cables at starter, checked 4 fuses in mpem and all are good. Opened the back electrical box and the 15 amp fuse block was melted. The fuse was NOT blown. I replaced the entire fuse block and still can't get anything. No clicks, no beeps. Any thoughts?

The 15a fuse in the rear box is your charging fuse. I the housing was melted, and the fuse was not blown... that tells me the wires crossed, and it got shorted. (That's not good) Also, since your regulator/rectifier connections happen inside the MPEM... that's extra not good.

Unfortunately, I think your MPEM is roasted.

If I was in your position... I would make sure the battery is charged, and take it to the dealer... and have them see if the MPEM is alive, using their BUDS system.

Ok, I think I'm onto something. You'll never believe the thing. The jet pump is so toasted it locked the engine up. Still not the electrical issue but the wear ring has melted in the jet pump. I got pics if anyone wants to see. I put in a used jet pump I had from an xp (hoping it works) the xp's is brass where the one from the GS is all plastic but it melted it beyond use. Back to the electrical issue. I ran a jump wire and bypassed the 15 amp fuse, plugged in the dess and got two beeps. I just ordered a new solenoid and fuse block. We'll see how things go once those parts arrive.

Hmmm, I think after all I've been through I think the starter caused it all. Well the wear ring caused the starter to burn up which got the wiring hot and melted the fuse block. Thats my story anyhow
