So, often when docking or navigating rougher/busier waters my wife and I (my wife mostly as she’s been a boater her entire life) like to stand to get a better view ... the position of the captains chair and the tight Helm in our Utopia 205 are not naturally conducive to this.

So I set out to craft a solution.. and have to say it turned out pretty good.

Got some Sea-Ray sliders from Great Lakes Skipper, added some stainless angle iron as extensions and with a bit of drilling and measuring got them fitted.

This gives us 6” or so of travel and gets the seat back that extra bit that you can stand up straighter without feeling contorted and now can easily put one leg into the seat to rest on your knee.

I did have to drill into the plastic seat bottom to Create a relief for the heads of the screws holding the rails to the slider.
