Hi,
I am new to the forums. So hello to everyone and here is my first public service message. I searched the forums looking for my specific problem and couldn't find it. So, hopefully this will help else someone out. I took my boat for a carb cleaning because the previous owner accidently used ethanol fuel and did run it all out. I drained all the old fuel and added fresh gas/oil. After the carbs were rebuilt it would whine loudly at higher RPMs. All the usual suspects were checked. Nothing in the impellers, carbon seals were good. Wear rings good. It wasn't bearing noise. Nothing??? Both myself and the guys at my local service shop were scratching their heads for a while. It finally turned out to be that the motor was not completely aligned with the drive line. They adjusted it and all good to go! I hope this helps someone out there...
