Heres my problem. The kill switch and stop switch and my 95 xp wont stop the motor. I have to pull the choke to stop the motor. Any ideas? Thanks

Running lean or you have an air leak into the carb base somewhere. Pretty common problem.

Good thing you thought of choking it. Some guys don't think about it and it can burn up the motor.

Wait, you are talking about it revving out of control, and not just idling and not killing, right?

It runs just fine you just cant shut it off unless you pull the choke. when I pull the lanyard off when its running nothing happens. Whats wierd is after its been shut off it wont start without putting the lanyard back.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the runaway revs we get sometimes. Disregard my comment, unless you have that happen in the future.

I hooked it up with my battery charger and a test lamp. Push the start button light comes on. Release it and it goes out. Seems like the switch is fine to me. Could it be a ground issue?

Leaning on telling you its the mpem. Borrow a 278000423 MPEM or put your box on a buddy's 720 ski. Only test other than swapping is: http://www.seadoosource.com/mpemtest.html

My opionion is to swap a known good one. See if problem goes away.

Multiple Problems in Electrical Product module.

Well either my cheapo harbor freight multi meter is junk or the mpem is,but why does the ski still run. also how many fuses are on the ski? I have three. Two on the mpem and another. Its hooked to the red and purple wire.

So I dont have a VTS module. I just have a fuse. Can the dealers test the mpem's? I thought I could read a multi meter, but I'm not sure if I read it right.

Thanks that clears that up. I thought was suppose to be in the main box. Back to the mpem. If it checks as bad. Why does the motor still run? I think I need a multiple meter lesson. Because I think the mpem is bad.

Is there a way to connect a temporary kill switch until I can buy a new mpem? We most likely take the ski out a couple of more times.

unplug the connector on magnito houseing, or put a toggle on that Black wire
in the magnito houseing loom. Doing That would break the mpem's ground circuit.
Bill

I put the switch on the mag wire loom. That did the trick.
Now if I could find a universal tether switch. I would put that on it.
