For a $100 yes but don't expect much power. I would be checking compression and everything else though as "no spark" could be a money pit.

Owner says rebuilt not long ago and it’s on eBay in AUSTRALIA
And what about power is it not a very powerful engine?

It was very underpowered and struggles to get a full size man going but it can still be fun. Figure a couple hundred dollars to replace the stator, coils or CDI unit at minimum.

Also I am pretty sure the 440 was never an SX.

Didn’t get the ski it sold for $65 and I think the auction was a bit dodgy. I’ll keep my eyes open for another one

For a good cheap standup I would look for a Kawasaki 650 SX 1991-1992 were the best years.

$1600 a good deal?

Is it all stock? By the red handpole it is either an 87' or 89'. My first ski was a 1989 650 SX and I loved that thing.

It’s got a west coast intake and a 44mm mikuni carb motor just rebuilt with .5 over pistons and has the ally pole that’s about all I know. Now I just have to work out how to stand up. Me being 120kg not helping but I’ll keep trying

That’s the carb and intake you want for sure.
If it has the stock pipe a Factory Pipe or Coffman’s Pipe will wake that thing up like nothing else if you can find one.

I am 6’3” and 200 lbs and the only handling mod I did was a ShredMaster ride plate/intake grate and it was perfect but again they are pretty rare now.

My wife grew up in Sydney and we toured the east coast for our honeymoon about 10 years ago. If they would let us Yanks in we would move there.

I’ll take some pics and post them and hopefully be up and into it in the next few weeks. I’ll be on the river Saturday hopefully

That is the stock pipe, nothing special.

The last two digits on the VIN number are the year for all watercraft.

I saw the red handpole and assumed it was either 1987 or 1989, 1988 was white and after that they were always blue.
