Hey guys, Im new to the forum.

I have a SeaDoo 2001 GTX DI 951, that ive owned for about 4 years now. I bought it with 40 hours and it recentley passed away at the end of this summer with 344 hrs total on the original motor (it hit 68mph shotrly before it died:hurray:)

But anyways the motors cooked. Is it worth rebuilding this thing? Should I move on to a 4 stroke? I was thinking of doing it myself, although now that I looked at it the efi makes the motor seem very complicated. Do they sell refurbished motors for a decent price anywhere?

What do you guys think that I should do?
Is there an instructional cd or manual on rebuilidng this engine?

Thanks,
Dan

Rip!

Is it worth rebuilding?.....good question. That question can only be answered by you, so I'll give you a couple numbers to crunch.

A remanfactured 951 direct fuel injected engine with a 2 year warranty will run you $1799 with a core trade in.
The ski value, if it were to be purchased in excellent condition from a local dealership in the city of Portland, has a value of $4130, according to Kelly's blue book for watercraft.........

So there you go, the decision is left up to you........If it were mine, yeah, I'd probably go with the new engine. Means you'll know everything about it, verses one you may purchase of the same year from an individual and know nothing about........:hat:

Id really like to I love the way this thing handles.

Does anyone know about the gti with 155hp? i was told it was most comparable to myn by a dealer

Engine?

Dan, we have advertisers on the forum's main page who deal in engine's and accessories. This may be a good place to start. Good luck!
