Ok, I'm new to PWC but not 2 strokes. 1997 GSX. This boat has been taken good care of. I just got it.10 hours total time. Always winterize and ran dry of gas at end of day. It's starts and idles good but will not rev up at throttle up for 2 mins. Once she throttles up and the rpms come up it runs good the rest of the day. I put in New plugs, good gas. Next time out just a couple days later, cold start normal, idle is good and solid, time to throttle up, no rpm gain and a bog sound., back to idle fine. Repeat for 2 mins with throttle up but a bog sound and no rpm gains. . Now I pull the choke and release with throttle open some, a quick bog then up comes the revs, then back to no more than idle power. I try a quick choke again and up comes the rpms and the next 2 hours of trouble free good power and response riding. Any ideas?

Lets start with the basics. Do you still have grey tempo fuel lines? Have you cleaned your rave valves?

The fuel lines look sort of yellow. The other part u asked is a mystery to me. I have a good attitude and my feelings will not be hurt.

I'm guessing the fuel lines have been replaced, are the fuel lines clear?

The rave valves are under a couple of black round caps about 2-1/2" in diameter and have red discs in the center.

Probably the best thing for you to do is download an owner's manual and a service manual, and familiarize yourself with at least the basics of your ski.

I'm at home now and looked again. . Yes, the 2 fuel lines are gray. I'm guessing that this is bad and they need replaced. The third fuel line is clear. I'm not meaning to bad mouth the factory service manual that I have, I'm happy to have it, It has procedures and parts break downs but little theory. I'm also Sorry for not searching this site already but my phone browser is not being user friendly for me here. So my guess is u have given me a starting place to look. Thanks.

Nothing like being humbled. I just opened my service manual to look up a rave valve and there is this big word looking right at me."Theory". Ha ha says the guy with the red face. Thanks.
