It's a mix of parts.

The hull is a 94 or 95 SPX since it has a blue bottom. The hood and bar pad came from that boat.

The rest of the parts came from a 96 XP (guessing) The seat, grills, fuel valve, and rear grab handle... along with the engine and it's supporting electronics.

Someone probably had a 800 XP, and broke the hull... and the older SPX (or SP) was a cheap donor hull.

I see you are in PA. Where are you at?

im outside philly but thanks for the response so its an 800 motor nice that means its the 770 or something i ordered carb kits so i hope there right
what is with the r&d aluminum spacer under the head cover what does that do i was told that this ski is fast i havent had it on the water but i hope i can keep up with my buddys yamaha 1200 dont wanna be fasater just dont wanna have to leave 1 hr early to meet him lol now i checked the hull it is 94
hull and on the bottom of the hull i see that its yellow under the aqua does that help determine the model of the ski i wanna order a new seat cover and handle bar cover and just want to get the right stuff

few more pictures

2nd pic, of your post #2, looks like an open hose and some type of gold/brass "bung" onside of exhaust manifold?

i have seen that the two tell tales from up fron are not hooked up i do know that i need the brass fittings into the pipe i supose in my last post 4th picture what is the solenoid for never seen that before

What shaft seal does this use going out the hull? I am remotely curious about the tube with grease style and the 787 motor speed.

Not to change subjects... but you can use the old style seal on any of the engines. RPM isn't an issue. The reason they went to the carbon seal is for safety.

When the carbon seal starts to have issues, your boat stops going, and you fix the problem.

When the bearing seal has issues... it seizes to the shaft, rips the boot, and now you have a nice 2" hole in the bottom of your boat. (it will sink quickly)

***** EDIT *****

After looking at the picture with the selonoid... he has a corrugated boot, so there is probably a carbon seal in the hull.

dr honda any idea on the solenoid its hooked to water so im just unsure what its purpose is

Without seeing how everything is hooked up... I'm going to take a guess.

The bigger aluminum cylinder is a filter to keep junk out of the engine. The solenoid is for a poor mans dry pipe. At high RPM's, a dry pipe will get hot, and allow a faster sonic wave. In turn, letting the engine rev a little higher. I bet if you look at your electronics, you will find an aftermarket rev-limiter, and it will be connected to that. OR... if it's a very poor mans pipe... there is just a button on the bars to push once you are up to speed.

so someone made this as just a speed deamon lol i mean is it worth all these mods or will this thing be a tuningnightmare

rebuilt the carbs today and was kinda unsure on the air and fuel mixture screws one was 10 turns in and the other was 6 turns in and i think they were the same on both carbs hope this thing runs when i get the battery i had to order an oddyssey batery just to start it pepboys battery wouldnt crank it

also its got a dess post, they did not have them in 94 or 95. they started in 96 on everything but the baseline sp.

Yes... it's an 800 motor (787)

All the guts (drive and electronics) looks like it's from a 96 XP, so it will have a DESS.

the solenoid will squirt water into the tuned pipe for optimum performance. Should see a wire wrapped around the mag plug wire, or its connected to something, thru the mpem system.

awesome so what do u guys think will it hang with a yamaha 1200 xl 1998 stock boat

and im gonna get pictures of the bottom grate i think that is upgraded also and hopefully they put a nice impeller in it

dr honda i did the compression test looks to have 150 in each cylinder also carbs were just rebuilt yester day and i have a high idle now it runs and starts right thanks to the odessy battery

but when i look in the ski the two mixture screws i see from the top of the carbs what should they be set at

and then what should the two lower screws under the carb be set at thanks again hope to be on the water tomorrow

your idle will be high outta water, it'll come down with load on pump. Best place to start with mixture settings, is go do plug chop, and go from there. See how she responds off idle/takeoff, then go WOT for a few yards, then pull plugs...

sorry seadooya ima newbie here can u explain a little more in detail sorry for the dumb question i just know its close and im dying to get it right im really excited after seeing thecompression at 150 on each cylinder i think i have a strong motor here and it sounds nasty mean

The idle out of the water will be high. around 3000 rpm. Don't bother setting it until you can put it in the water. It should be set to 1500 rpm in the water.

Since it's a mix of parts... I don't know what your jetting is. On a 96 xp... the top screws (high speed fuel) should be closed, and the bottom screws (low speed fuel) should be at 1 turn out.

Personally... I would set them to 1/4 turn out on the high speed needle, and 1-1/4 on the low. Once you get it running on the water... you can give them a tweak if they are rich.

Sat is suppose to be sunny. Not super warm... but nice enough to go give it a test run.

your first set of pics, 3rd one...i dont see the little oil lines coming from that area..(in front of motor), so take another look, and see if i'm missing it or they're not there. If there not there, then you must premix your gas...40/50-1
