I've never used black tip mats, but I'm sure they are good. BUT... I can say that I've owned a bunch of ski's and a boat with Hydro Turf, and I've ever warn it out.
My 2000 Polaris had Hydro Turf from the factory... so I know that's 12 years old, and it's still in great shape. And... the ski was neglected when I bought it.
Regardless of what you get... It's worth the price. I'm about ready to drop the $400 for the hydro Turf for the islandia in my avatar.
As far as I can tell it's the same stuff, I would just go with the best price. I've always used Black Tip, because it goes on sale, however if you don't want to wait Forum members get 15% discount on Hudro Turf.

there is a difference between the two, the ht is a little softer but also a little tougher, this is noticeable when cutting them. however, with that said, I still prefer bt because of the cost and I'm not a dealer for ht but am for bt through sbt. it's important to know that the bt wishbone and diamond plate are pretty stiff and kind of hurts to walk on them so I wouldn't recommend for a boat, skis are fine because you're not really walking on them. the cut mats(groove types) are softer because it open the cells up so your not touching the tougher skin of the molded shapes.
