HX knee pad vinyl

I had Jettrim send me a section of their medium carbon vinyl so I could reupholster my knee pads to match my new retro seat cover. I took the whole seat contraption apart and discovered the original vinyl is bonded to thin foam. I was hoping they were more like the xpl handlebar pad. Anyway, what's the best way to get the new vinyl on? Bond it, or stretch and staple?

In a home shop... your only option is to staple it on. TO do a bonding... you would need a vacuum former.
