I have a 2003 RX-DI that I am trying to rebuild. The problem that I am having is removing one of the rave valves from the cylinder. I have tried PB Blaster, WD40, heat and even soaked the assembly in oil. Anyone have any ideas on how to get it un-stuck? If I can't get it out, I will need to find a used cylinder assembly.

If the jug is off... I would look for melted aluminum. Carbon will stick the valves... but a couple taps wit a hammer, an some oil will break them free.

I do not think it is carbon and nothing is melted. This motor had salt water and sand inside. You really cant tap on the inside. I did try a c-clamp trying to force it out. It did not move. I bought a larger clamp today, but I have not had a chance to try it.

I destroyed the valve but it is out. I can't believe how hard I had to hit it from the back side. I started with a 1/2 inch extension backwards. When it was too large for the slot I switched to a 1 1/2 inch chisel. I was lucky and all I destroyed was the rave valve.

Thanks for the help, John
