I am totally new to the whole pwc thing. I recently traded on a 99 sea doo gs 720. The previous owner told me it wasnt getting fire and said they thought it was the coil. I got it home and started to put the things back together that they had tore apart. Put in a new battery and hooked up key... No beeps no nothing. Got to looking and found the 5 amp fuse blown up front. Done some reading and found out that is the fuse for the mpem. Went to put in a new one and it popped before i ever got it all the way in. Done some research online and found a few people saying that it could be the stator grounding out and said to unplug the connector on top of the cover and see if it blows... It did NOT. So i tore it apart and got the stator out and it has been damaged. Looks like the PO was trying to get the fly wheel nut off and had a screwdriver in the little hole to keep it from turning while they loosened the nut and the screwdriver damaged the stator??? I really knew nothing about pwc's till i tore into this one and done some reading online. So... Now i need a new stator obviously. I was hoping someone on here might have one? I want to fix it but dont want to sink an arm and leg in it. If i cant fix it cheap i am going to part it out. My next question is how do i check the coil?? Sorry for the very long post just trying to give as much info as possible! Thanks in advance!
