Hi all,

Tried to start my Seadoo GTI 1997 today and had some not so nice noises. upon connecting the key i get the typical 2 short beeps. Then as i try to start i get the one longer beep. The engine doesnt even try to start and sounds electrical. My first thought was a key issue maybe the coding??Any help would be welcomed ASAP as this has put pay to me getting this on the water today. I have learnt my lesson about starting the Ski before the day i want to use it the hard way.

Thanks in advance

Nan

From where I'm sitting.... it sounds like your battery is dead.

On most of the SeaDoo's... when the battery voltage drops, the MPEM resets, and will give you one beep. Also, when the battery is low/weak/dead... the starter won't engage properly.

BUT....... DO NOT TRY TO JUMP START THE SKI !!! YOU CAN COOK THE MPEM.

Put the battery on a charger for a few hours, and see if it starts.
