Has anyone turned a GSX into an RX?

I was just wondering if anyone has taken the reverse bucket off of an RX and put it on a GSX. If so, I'd like to see pics of the bucket and the shifter location on the GSX. I've never ridden an RX, but the hulls look very similiar with the RX being maybe a foot longer. Mine has the 951 with the same pump as the RX, so the parts should work, right? I love my ski, but it would be nice to have the Neutral/Reverse option when you're waiting on a skier or boarder to get ready with the rope behind you.

i'm thinking its not the bucket itself that will be tricky, but running the cable to the front and hooking up some form of reverse lever would be the tricky part.

I've also considered adding a RX setup to my 02 XP to add reverse, however the XP has even less mounting options for the 'shifter'. I would think it would mount right up, however controlling it would be the problem.

one could make it power.... add another trim module and set it up to run the bucket. then you'd have power reverse selection, and no need to mount a huge shifter setup. it could cost more and be harder, but damn would it look slick...

use one of the old remote trim setups from the early 90's XPs to move the bucket. might not have enough throw though.

The throw could be changed by adjusting the pivot point, however as you gain throw you lose torque...

This looks like a winter project... or just add trim to a ski that already has reverse... I'd like to see a 2002 GTX w/trim... could be fun.

Are you guys saying that skis with the reverse bucket don't have the VTS trim? I didn't know that. I'd rather have trim over neutral. Just have to teach riders to come up like I do behind a ski: Get ready and start while being slowly pulled through the water. After looking at the parts diagram, there also looks like alot to consider(location, cable routing, etc) when mounting the shift lever.

the ONLY ski with trim AND reverse is the RX.

all other skis, it's one or the other. (2 stroke skis)

many 4 strokes have both.
