I have a 99 GTX RFI that has begun to have fuel issues. It will run fine most of the time but will suddenly die, especially if you are under 20 MPH. It will restart if you hold the throttle wide open. My mechanic has the same problem with his RFI. It appears to be fuel related. That is, it is loading up and flooding the cylinders. Does anyone have an idea what to look at repairing on the fuel injection, i.e. the pump?

Commonly when an engine "just dies, will restart" it is asphixiated with exhaust gases
in the engine compartment. Ride with the seat off as an easy test. Bill

Thanks, I'll try that. I guessing you sit on the rear seat. If that is the problem, does it mean there is a leak in the exhaust system?

I had the same issue with my Seadoo. It was a ruptured exhaust line. I thought I had a fuel issue as well. It runs without issues after replacing hoses.
