hey guys am from the cayman islands and help here is limited so i ask for help anyone i have a 2000 gtx direct inject mill/edition it will not rev over 4900rpm and i been trying to trouble shoot this issue but no luck could it be the lanyard or timing issue i don't know please can someone shed any light on this for me

thanks

Post....

Feeble, I took the liberty to open your own thread so that your issue doesn't become part of someone elses.
It seems that you may be in a "reduced rpm" mode due to an issue with one of your sensors....do you have any codes or any other information as to any potential problem. I haven't looked in the manual yet, but look at the problem in the whole and anything out of the ordinary that may help would be appreciated.
You can rule out the key. I doubt very seriously that is the problem. Has this problem been going on for a long time?........anymore input on the issue will hellp.

also i took it to the local dealer and they told me that the year of my bike did not come with code mode's that it should be fully opened all the time. i did disconect the oil mixture pump an mixed the gas my self

Low Rpm

Hi FEEBLE,
I"m not sure if it has anything to do with your low RPM"S but one thing is for sure. You CANNOT do away with the oil injection pump on a 951 DI engine. This will leave the air compressor for your fuel injection system without lubrication and that might cause serious engine damage. I would reinstall the injection system and go from there.
Thanks, DAWG

Oil injection problems...

Feeble, we got some major concerns at the moment to your last post. Your 947 cc (951) engine is not an engine that can use the pre-mix in your tank. You have to use the injection system. The DI motor is in a class practically all by itself. Let me tell you why. Then you go look for yourself. If you pre-mix your fuel, it's going directly to your fuel rail to be directly injected into your combustion chamber with a 107 (minimum) burst of air from the compressor. This fuel/oil ration is being ignited immediatly and after combustion, goes out the exhaust.
Now, go back to your engine and look at the routing of those oil lines from your injection pump, they come into the engine at a different location. That oil, which will eventually end up in the combustion chamber for ignition, is responsible in lubricating many bearings and components along the way. To continue to pre-mix rather than use your oil injection, will blow your engine. If you've not already done serious engine damage.
Also, there is one thing that can limit your rpm by the MPEM. A lack of sufficient power. Start your motor, use a multi tester to check your power generated by the magneto to your battery. You should have a reading between 14 to 14.5 vdc. During acceleration and WOT, the engine is using max power and if there isn't enough being sent to your battery via the rectifier/regulator, the mpem will limit your rpm.
You have 5 primary sensors on your engine. They are the air pressure sensor, crankshaft position sensor, throttle position sensor, water temperatrue sensor and the air temp sensor.
You have got to put your oil injection system back together. How long have you had it blocked off? Did this problem your having now start shortly after blocking it off?.............this is very important in your engine.
And your dealer is right. It seems that this was the year that Sea-Doo started phasing out the sole use of the MPEM programmer to do all the work on the engines. They do have "ff" codes, but can only be read by the programmer and the B.U.D.S. software.........
Get that oil system back in place!......................
