Gti le-rfi not starting (need help)

Hey guys I just recently aquired this jetski and I have never had or worked on one before but im fairley mechanically inclined and would like to get this thing in the water soon since its summer time.

So i just bought a new battery and plugged the key in and the gauges turn on it mentions that the oil is low, fuel is low, and red light blinking. It also mentions that this thing only has 83 hrs on it but anyway after i put the key in i get the 2 beeps and right after i get 4 more beeps (which is the jetski telling me to start it) but when i press the start/stop button the motor doesnt want to turn over at all and then i get 4 long beeps and four really quick beeps right after that. Also when i press the start/stop button i hear some sort of click behind the solenoid...

Could the solenoid be bad? When i attempt to jump the solinoid it wants to turn but doesnt go all the way... I know the keys for these things go bad every so often but the key has a good conection. Some info from previous owner, said the oil was over filled at one point and it just sat for a long time and hasnt been used since.

Bare with me fellas, i could really use all your help and i attempted to list as much info as i could about this thing. Any ideas and thoughts are well appreciated granted i dont know squat about them

OK... 2 short beeps is the "OK to start" sound. The 4 beeps after that is a safety warning saying the lanyard is on the post, but the engine isn't running. It will continue to give the 4 beeps so you don't forget the lanyard and drain the battery.

The new battery... is a real brand? The reason I ask is because I've see a bunch of bad battery's (new) from Wal-Mart, International, and Chief Auto. Also, if it is a good brand, did you charge it?


If the battery is up to par... then use pliers, or a big screwdriver, and jump the terminals on the solinoid. If the engien cranks... then yes... I would say that the solinoid is bad. If it doesn't crank, the starter could be bad.

BUT.............

If it doesn't crank... take the spark plugs out, and remove the gray cover at the rear of the engine. Under that is the PTO that spins the driveshaft. Try to turn it by hand. The engine should turn over easy with the plugs out.

Check those things, and let us know what you get.



Oh........ as a final FYI... if the battery is weak... DO NOT try to jump start the ski, or crank the engine while it's hooked to a charger. The Seadoo MPEM (computer) is very sensitive to power spikes, and you will burn up the MPEM if you try.

can't get the thing to turn over...

So I jumped the solenoid and the engine wants to turn, I even got a new solenoid, installed it and it does the same thing i described in the post...

I also kind of just realized that when I plug in the KEY the screen displays oil low and fuel low. I would still assume that this thing should atleast get a crank out of the motor even though the oil and fuel are low... also the screen displays HI-TEMP, i dunno guys I'm really lost. really hope you guys can help me out!

so i've come to figure that the MPEM is fried and they are F***ing expensive... where can I find a cheap one?

how do you know that it is fried?

Bc it smells burned lol... but there was also a piece from the mother board (mpem) that fell off as well

And i just took the MPEM down to this tech repair shop... im screwed! Anybody want to buy this thing off me?
