Its been a while since running my GSI. The last time we ran it, it would not throttle up without stalling. The shop told me it was the gas lines. I started to change them yesterday and I cleared the top of the carb. I then decided to run it for a bit and see if it would start. It did but then shortly after hooking up the hose to the back, the carb would spit up water/gas. There is a clue there!! How do I correct this??

You need to start the engine before you turn on the water, when running on the hose. I would get the water out before you do anything else. Then clean the carbs and replace the fuel lines.
