Just took out my 1998 GS to lake Havasu on the colorodo river and found out my gas gauge didn't work. Where do I start to look? Tony

Your fuel pickup has to come out of the tank to get repaired. Unfortunately its not a fun project. The steering has to come out, the oil tank slid back, empty the fuel tank, and then tip the tank so the pickup can come out of where the steering was.

I'm very particular about my ski's and I like to have everything working, however I could easily get by without a gas gauge. "Back in the day", most maybe all motorcycles didn't have gas gauges, when you felt the bike stutter you would just reach down and flip the fuel valve to reserve.
