fuel guage is acting wiered

Hey guys its been a while since i started a thread so i figured i would ask for some help...Here it is...My 96 xp that i picked up at the beginning of the year had a bad duel guage..(not working at all)....so i naturally replaced the float and it cleared up and worked....But i noticed lately that if i get low on fuel then go fill it back up the bar will not read how much fuel there is in there until i start riding for a while...after i ride around for say 10 min then the meter goes up and reads ok....this is really woered to me so any sugestions are welcome

I'm glad you are fixing the gauge so you don't run out of fuel again

Could it be that after running low the float is stuck some where then by riding ( I know your style of riding) it frees itself????
Does it do it everytime you refuel?
Is the tank always near totally empty when you refuel?

it does it every tijme i ride....no matter how much fuel is in the tank..if it is on half and i fill it ..then it takes about 10 min of riding for it to read full

The top resistor in the pickup has failed is my best guess. You'll need a new pickup or just deal.

It is normal for it to take a while to register... My 95 does it..

This is what i was thinking, makes sense as I have seen this before. (resisters being bad in the baffle)
