On my 1994 spx seadoo, there is a gas filter in the upper housing. Can i replace that with a better one from the auto parts store, or do I have to use theres?

If you are talking about part #15-17 on this list ........ http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/seadooforums/Seadoo_oem/Seadoo_PWC.asp?Type=13&A=19&B=8

I would keep it but clean the little screen inside and then add an in-line fuel filter on the hose running to the carbs.

Go to home page and scroll down until you see the "How-to" section. there is a great write up from Dr. Honda on this easy project.

Make sure you replace any gray tempo fuel lines (if you have them) with black auto lines.
