In a previous thread I asked about what to do for an engine that got flooded 2 yrs ago.

Wasn't sure if engine was really flooded or not. After getting the ski today and looking it over it appears it did get flooded. My question is what other issues/problems should I be on the lookout for. The engine bay was flooded for a short time and drained. The engine got flooded when towed. How do the electrial components such as starter, coil, connections, etc. fair after being covered in water?
If engine replacement is needed how much work is involved and other than rebuilt engine what other parts are needed? I plan to purchase a shop manual but, they don't say how long or how much trouble is involved in replacing engine.

I haven't bought the ski yet. It belongs to a friend and I am trying to see what it will need to get it running again. The craft is in great shape ( with exception of engine) no damage anywhere, seats in great condition and very clean. The left side O.P.A.S. paddle is broken is the only other thing wrong. Based on this description what would be a fair price as it sits with engine problem? I am trying to decide if it is worth the trouble of replacing engine.

Sorry for the long post.
Thanks again for the help.

Sounds like your just buying the hull with a bunch of internally rusted parts. I wouldn't pay too much as your gonna have to replace the motor and possibly some electrical components., they don't have a chance with two years of water in it
