Hello, I purchased a brand new SeaDoo GTI in June, which I have barely used. A few weeks ago we were out using it and a warning light came on "Engine Running Hot," which did not cause the watercraft to stop running but did limit the speed. Finally sent to the dealer who serviced, cleared "minor debris" and, inexplicably, gave me (and charged me) for an oil change on a brand new machine with only a few hours of use. Well I finally got it back, put it in the water yesterday and... GUESS WHAT?? Same code again, accompanied by a "beep."

I bought this for my kids as a surprise for the summer with camp and activities canceled...it has been nothing short of a source of frustration and grief, compounded by the dealership.

Any thoughts on this? We've basically missed most of the summer...

Sorry to hear about your issues.

The first oil change is due in 50 hours or 1 Year, so unless they can tell you why they changed the oil, I would ask for my money back.

Secondly, your Seadoo is a closed cooling system for everything but the exhaust so if the engine is overheating, it would have nothing to do with any debris because the cooling is closed and is exchanged through the rideplate on the rear. Now if it was an exhaust cooling issue, that is different as the boat pulls raw water from the jetpump and runs it through the exhaust to cool it. If you run the boat in very shallow water, you risk pulling that debris into that cooling loop and causing issues.

Does your paperwork explain where the issue was? Was it an engine cooling code or an exhaust cooling code?
