Does this wear ring look right?

I bought a replacement wear ring. Went to the dealer and they did not have any OEM wear rings in stock so I bought an aftermarket ring. According to the manual, there is no neoprene washer on the XPs. The part inside of the ski that the wear ring mounts against when re-installing the pump is flat. However, there is a flange on the new wear ring. Does this look right? It would appear that this should not be tightened up all that much when installing it? I just wanted to get some input on this before I re-installed the pump.

It's hard to tell from the pic... but it looks like it's too long. Does it fit in the hull?

Haven't actually tried yet. Wanted to get some input from here first. I'll be trying this when I get home from work today. I checked the manual and it does show this flange/lip and it actually calls it a seal lip and states that it does face forward. So I guess this is correct. I also found the correct torque in the manual. Plus since that lip held up to the wear ring being pressed in, then I guess it is not as fragile as it looks.

The only thing I cannot find in the manual is the torgue for the venturi bolts. The manual seems to have skipped that step on the assembly instructions. Should I torgue those the same as the pump bolts??

my oem replacement wear ring had the same lip on it. as for the torque, like Dr. Honda says, you can use the german spec, goodentight.

Thanks, you guys. I am heading home from work now to put this in and hopefully get it in the water.

Got the pump back in. Took a peek in and it looks like there is one location on the wear ring that the impeller has a bigger gap than the rest. I sprayed lube on the wear ring and fired it up. I looked under the grate and noticed this after cranking it up. Is it normal for the impeller to trim a piece off like this when first turned?

What would cause the gap in the wear ring at one location?
