Challenger 2000 240 EFI Idle & Timing Screw

Can someone snap a close up picture of their timing screw position as well as idle screw position? I had troubles with my boat running and I had a "know it all" friend that messed with both screws, now I have no clue where it was before and the boat will not start anymore. Parts C & D on the diagram I attached.

The manual that your picture came from walks you through the adjustment of those. A close up pic won't help since all of these engines are a little different.

Tony, welcome back to the forum, I hope all is well with you.

According to the manual, the idle must be adjusted with engine running (mine is not)
As far as the spark advance timing, I read the procedure over and over again but just don't seem to get it. Here's the insert from the manual:

Connect timing light to no.1 cylinder spark plug lead -OK.
Crank engine with starter (about 300 RPM) while holding throttle arm against idle stop. -OK
Adjust the primary pickup screw to attain appropriate setting. Tighten locknut. -WHAT DOES "THE APPROPRIATE SETTING" mean?

I believe idle timing is 6 degrees btdc for static idle timing. Max spark advance is 26 degrees btdc.
