challenger 1800 pto striped

Had the boat out on the weekend, here is the issue, go the leave the marina and one of the engines stips the splines out on the pto hub, now for my question, i took the boat back to shore and pulled the drive shaft as i slid it out it caught on the last bit of splines in the pto, when putting my fingers in i can feel splines for the first part like .5 inch, the rubber piece was also gone on the end of the pto but i believe that was not the problem, i put in the rubber end on drive shaft and put back together and put the boat in the water the drive shaft moved towards the engine and to the striped splines and same problem.
question is does the pto hum have drive splines all the way in the hub, also where is best place to look for one.

Your question is irrelevant since they are gone. But... yes... they are basically they entire depth of the PTO.

You can get a used one... but personally... if you are keeping the boat... I'd buy a new one.
