Carbon seal stainless steel ring !

Trying to remove the c-clip... But the drive shaft keeps sliding back with the ss ring (tophat) ... Any ideas???

You should have your jet pump in or the shaft support tool
Then you need the special tool to push hat section rearwards to give u access to clip

Jet pump is in.... can push tophat back with hands but driveshaft also slides back same time

It’s not easy to do it by hand and sometimes the clip is a tight fit in shaft
I use the tool in pic I sent you with a tie down strap from top of handle to the front of ski around handle bar section or on the body
This gives you two hands to get it off with a screw driver and Hamer if need be

Does the driveshaft supposed to slide back at all when tophat pushing back ???

It will but only till it makes contact at the end of the splines area within the impeller

The tool is good have as it can be used on most Seadoo jet skis
